In my last post, I was talking about why you should not brand your company’s products. Now you are wondering, “If I don’t post about my company’s products, then how else to sell my products?”
The strategy is this – You brand yourself.
Yes, you should brand yourself if you are in the network marketing business. Here’s why.
Why You Should Brand Yourself in Network Marketing?
Reason #1: People buy from YOU
While product quality is one of the key purchasing reasons, the more important factor is YOU. Network marketing products are sold based on mouth-to-mouth recommendations and human relationships. People need to know that you are trustworthy and reliable. That gives them the confidence to buy from you and not your competitors that are selling the same or similar products.
Reason #2: People join YOUR business, not your company
It may sound strange to you, but this is the facts. Yes, when people join the business, they are signing for the company business kit, and they are having the contract with the company, and are abiding by the company policy. But here’s the thing, with so many business builders in your company, why do people choose to join YOU, and not others?
So can you see now that people are joining YOU for the business, and not joining the company?
Reason #3: To stand out among your competitors
There are more business opportunities than ever before, especially in network marketing. The market can therefore be really confused with all these opportunities. As mentioned in Reason #1 and #2, you would need to stand out among your competitors so that people will buy the products from you, or join you in the business opportunity.
Reason #4: Smooth transition if you were to switch company
Nobody can guarantee that they are going to stay with the same company forever, and neither can you. Sometimes, company policy may change, or the management team change, or maybe the company changing their compensation plan that’s towards your disadvantages. Or, maybe you found better products. All these could lead you into switching a company for the better.
When you are branding the products, this transition can be hard as it will also involve your trust and reputation. Just imagine, you have been branding products from company A, making your social media an advertising billboard for company A. But now, you are promoting products from company B instead. You are just creating confusion in your market, especially on your social media.
But when you’re branding yourself, then it’s a whole different story. It’s not an issue and you are not confusing your market even when you are selling products from both company A and company B, or switching from company A to company B.
Companies may come and go, but your brand is there to stay.
