Running ads such as Facebook ads, youtube ads are so common nowadays. You see businesses running ads, so you were thinking, “maybe I should run ads for my network marketing business too.”

Well, running ads for your business sounds cool, and you believe it will work wonders, right? 

I used to spend money on Facebook ads to get leads. I will share with you why you SHOULD NOT run ads for your network marketing business.

Six Reasons Why You SHOULD NOT Run Ads for Your Network Marketing Business:

Reason #1: Network marketing is a mouth-to-mouth and human relationship business

People buy or join those that they know, like and trust. This also explains why you should not have a Facebook business page, especially if you are branding the products.

If you are running ads for your sales pitch, no, most of the time, it won’t work well because you just skip the human relationship building part, which is crucial to your business success.

But, if you are running ads to lead them to your blog or sales funnel that is aiming at cultivating long-term relationships, then yes, running ads is a good strategy.

So, before running ads, ask yourself, are you bringing your leads to your blog or proper sales funnels that usually involve email marketing? If your answer is no, stay away from running ads.

Reason #2: The key to network marketing success is duplication

The big part of network marketing success is based on duplication. This means that your team members (aka your downlines) need to be able to do what you are doing and follow your steps.

This is why we are trying to keep the business as simple as possible to make sure your team members can easily pick up the same skills.

Running ads by itself alone is a big learning part. It is a profession by itself. 

If you are already a professional internet marketer and know how to run ads, that’s just good for you. Yes, you can get many leads and convert them into sales, in which they become either your customers or downlines. But do these downlines know how to run ads? Are they an experienced internet marketer just like you? Do they have the extra money to spend on ads? 

If the answer is “no”, then, you should know that running ads is not a duplicable method.

Reason #3: Your leads are not of good quality and hardly convert to sales

The leads that you are getting from the ads are strangers. They are the cold market. 

Usually, the warm and the hot market are the ones that will buy from you or join your business. This is why building a genuine relationship is so important. A genuine relationship means even if they don’t buy from you or join you, they are still your friends. 

By building the relationship, you are turning these cold markets into your warm or hot market. 

As mentioned in Reason #1, if you are hoping to get sales from these cold market leads of your ads, you will be disappointed.

Reason #4: Your new team members should invest their money in the right place

One benefit about network marketing business model is its low and zero risk investment. 

If your company has good quality products, instead of spending money at the department store, people will buy from your company instead, which also comes with a business kit without extra expenses.

Personally, I love the anti-aging skincare from my network marketing company. It’s a great product that with or without the business kit, I will still use it anyway. Instead of spending the same amount of money from the beauty salon, why don’t I use the products from my company and run the business at the same time without extra cost? 

That’s how I started my home business with a network marketing company that I love. And that’s how the majority started their home business with their company too, with a small and tight budget, and then slowly built up their financial portfolio from there.

Therefore, the more effective business expenses should focus only on autoship and the company or network marketing training events. 

Getting your team members to run ads will eat up their business budget. That will eventually cause them not to be able to invest in autoship or company training events. This is how you will kill your own business by running ads.

Reason #5: You and your team will fall for the hype of the magic button

The fundamental of network marketing success is from prospecting – build relationships, invite, present and closing. All these need to be done manually, with authenticity as a human being. Yet, this is the part that most people are reluctant to work on even though this is what brings in great income.

Therefore, psychologically, those that are running ads are actually having the magic button mentality in which they are hoping to make a good income without the fundamental work of prospecting. This is especially true among the amatures. I once fell for this hype too. 

Reason #6: You are leading yourself and your team in the wrong direction and the wrong focus

As explained in Reason #5, when I fell into the hype of the magic button, instead of focusing on learning and improving on the fundamental skill of prospecting, I was wasting my time and money on learning how to run ads. This actually took away my time for money-producing activities, which is prospecting. 

The same happens to my downlines too. I was leading my team in the wrong direction. As a result, it affects my team’s sales volume and income.

So, in conclusion, if you want to lead your team to the right focus and direction, and if you want a sustainable business team, avoid running ads.

Running ads may work very well for you if you are an experienced online marketer and have the money resources to do so. But, this is not duplicable because your team members may not have the same experience and money resources as you do. 

Remember, your business income and success depend on your team members’ income and their success. If they do well, your business will also do well. If they are not earning a good income, you cannot make a significant income too.
