So, you just started your network marketing business. You are super excited. You are officially in business now, first thing is to set up your Facebook Business Page and start inviting all of your friends to like your page.
That’s what everyone is doing, right?
No. Not in network marketing.
Here are the reasons.
Why you do not need Facebook Business Page for your network marketing business?
Reason #1: Facebook Business Page has poor reach
10 years ago, Facebook business page was fantastic. If you have 300 followers on your page, all your 300 followers would be seeing your every single post on your business page.
Today, at the time of writing this post, the organic reach of your Facebook business page is only about 5% of your total followers.
That means, with 300 followers, you would only have about 15 people seeing your post. Out of these 15 people, maybe 1 or 2 may engage with your post with a like or a comment. When a post has such low engagement, Facebook algorithm will detect the low engagement and show it to even fewer people. So, no surprise when no one clicks like or comments on your post.
The only way to increase your reach is to pay for Facebook ads. That’s how they make money to sustain the platform.
Use a business page only if you have a blog and intend to use the chatbot feature to automate some of your messages.
Otherwise, stay away from Facebook Business Page.
Reason #2: Network Marketing is a relationship business
Network marketing is a mouth-to-mouth recommendation and human relationship business.
People join you and buy from you because they know you, like you and trust you. If people were to buy from a business page, your network marketing company doesn’t need you. Your network marketing company doesn’t need to pay you the commissions for promoting their products/services.
Look, your company is already having a Facebook business page. Why would you want to create another similar business page where your reach will be so much lower than your company business page?

As mentioned in Reason #2 above, network marketing is a mouth-to-mouth recommendation and human relationship business. People join you and buy from you because they know you, like you and trust you.
On your Facebook personal profile, you are naturally sharing great contents as usual, talking about your life stories and your family. You talk about food that you love to eat, places that you like to go. It’s a very natural and authentic way of building relationships with your friends on Facebook. That’s how they know you, like you and trust you.
In conclusion, forget about using a Facebook business page, unless you want to spend money on running ads or using a chatbot. Instead, start using your Facebook personal profile to build relationships and be social. Your network marketing business starts with your Facebook personal profile (or Instagram).
